Romance studies involve examining the languages and cultures of a large number of countries. In Europe these include among others Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, and in America countries from Argentina in the south to Canada in the north. In the following courses you can learn more about this.
Research
We consider languages a culturally-influenced medium of communication, because language behaviour does not merely reflect its speaker's peculiarities, but is also shaped by culture and society. Therefore the following research areas are of particular interest to us.
