Our research projects concentrate on literary texts, films and theatre performances from Europe ( particularly Spain and France) and Latin America.

Conference: Relatives of People with Disabilities. Interdisciplinary Perspectives
The conference "Relatives of People with Disabilities. Interdisciplinary Perspectives" will take place from May 21, 2025, to May 23, 2025, at the University of Passau.

As part of the conference "Relatives of People with Disabilities. Obituary: Dr. José Onelio Blanco Delgado
The Chair of Romance Literatures and Cultures mourns the loss of Dr. José Onelio Blanco Delgado. He enriched our work, and we greatly valued him as a person. The condolence message from the Language Center can be found here.
We remember Dr. José Onelio Blanco Delgado with gratitude, especially for his inspiring involvement in our excursion to Cuba in 2019, which provided us all with unforgettable insights and encounters. Impressions from this special project can be found on the project page.
Course Announcement: Advanced Seminar "La discapacidad a través de las artes y la representación. Cuestiones fundamentales"
We warmly invite you to participate in this advanced seminar, which will be led by guest lecturer Dr. Alba Gómez García (Alfonso X University, Madrid) from January 13, 2025, to January 23, 2025. This seminar introduces key topics in Disability Studies and, at the intersection of Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, and Crip Theory, examines how disability is portrayed in literature, film, theater, and visual arts. The course will also address additional topics related to the immediate context of disability, including family, work, leisure, public spaces, and more.
