Duties and responsibilities of the Women's Representative
Representation of interests
As Women's Representative, I am committed to the following aims:
- ensuring gender equality
- protecting the interests of female students and staff
Guidance and advice
The Women's Representative of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies provides advisory services to female students of the Faculty. While I am naturally available for help if there is an acute crisis, students can always visit me to discuss specific problems or conflicts they face, for example:
- difficulties studying
- studying as a parent
- sexual harassment, etc.
Mentorships
Mentoring programmes are a fixture at many universities. Their primary aim is to give support to students preparing for their professional life after university. As a mentor, I provide support to women who are planning their careers and looking for a job, for instance by:
- advising them on the optimal choice of subjects and other prerequisites for the envisaged occupational field
- arranging opportunities to become acquainted with the their ideal dream industry and company
- providing help with putting together the supporting documents for job applications and coaching for job interviews
