Registration for graduation ceremonies
Information for graduates
Students enrolled in the bachelor's and master's degree programmes
You may attend graduation ceremonies only if the Examinations Office has received a request for a certificate within the specified deadline. The individual deadlines for receipt of such applications are always four weeks before the relevant graduation ceremony, and they are published here in good time. Should you wish to attend the graduation ceremony in the winter semester 2024/25, the Examinations Office must be in receipt of your request for a certificate by no later than 10 January.
All examinations and other assessments – including the dissertation or thesis – must have been completed and marked when the application is submitted. Please make sure you submit the application for issuance of a certificate twice and in a timely manner . The Examinations Office will automatically forward the form to the Dean's Office. Please understand that applications submitted after this deadline will, without exception, be considered only for ceremonies held in the following semester.
After the application has been submitted, you will receive a written invitation from the Dean's Office. We ask you to register for your graduation ceremony using the appropriate registration form as soon as you have received this invitation.
You will be presented a Congratulation card at the graduation ceremony. The Examinations Office will send you the original certificate and all other final degree documents by post directly once your request for a certificate has been duly considered. If you do not attend the graduation ceremony, the copy of your degree certificate will be destroyed in compliance with the data protection regulations.
For any questions relating to the graduation ceremony, please contact the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies directly: abschlussfeier@geku.uni-passau.de.
