Learning and Teaching
Four core areas are important for the teaching provided by the Chair of Multilingual Computational Linguistics. The core area Comparative Linguistics introduces the multilingual component and offers courses in the field of historical linguistics, linguistic typology and contact linguistics. The core area Computational Linguistics covers teaching on methods, insights, and application of research in computational linguistics. The core area Scientific Programming offers practical guidance in programming, data management, modeling, and visualization of research data. The core area Scientific Problem Solving looks into problem solving strategies, algorithmics, and machine learning. How these four core areas are integrated with other scientific fields represented at the University of Passau is shown in the figure below.
