Institutes and research centres

As an organisation that focuses on a specific cultural area, the Institute of Eastern Bavaria Area Studies and Neighbouring Regions (IKON) is dedicated to researching the history and culture of the Eastern Bavaria area, including the adjacent regions of Bohemia and Austria and consists of three departments: Historical Regional Studies, Regional Geography und Language Dream Research.

The Institute for Applied Ethics in Business, Professional Training and Continuing Education (Ethics WAW) bills itself as a research competence centre for ethical issues in business and economy and for the ethically sound study of sustainable development and education. It aims to promote expertise and reflective skills with regard to these topics in teaching, research and public service.
