The first keynote was given by Prof. Dr. Christian Seidel, Professor at the Department of Philosophy at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, in which he addressed the concept of "Zukunftsvergessenheit" (forgetting the future). In his talk, he discussed what is bad in normative terms about “Zukunftsvergessenheit” and what could speak in favor of sometimes forgetting the future.
The second keynote by Prof. Dr. Eva Weber-Guskar, Heisenberg Professor of Ethics and Philosophy of Emotions at the Institute of Philosophy at Ruhr University Bochum, discussed what happens when chatbots become a part of people's lives and the chatbot triggers emotions in people. In order to describe this phenomenon appropriately, the researcher presented a fictionalistic and a realistic proposal. Based on this, she discussed the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches in both theoretical and practical terms.
The XI Conference on Practical Philosophy was organized by Prof. Dr. Karoline Reinhardt together with Prof. Dr. Birgit Beck, Dr. Gottfried Schweiger and Prof. Dr. Michael Zichy
