International Guest Programmes of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies
The International Guest Programme of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies is aimed at its university teachers who wish to invite an international guest to the University of Passau to promote cooperation in teachingand research.
Applications are submitted via the Dean's Office. If you have any questions, please contact Ms Maria Fuchs.
The host chair or professorship is primarily responsible for the guest's supervision. The University of Passau's Welcome Centre offers chairs and professorships extensive support with accommodation and the organisation of ZIM identification, Stud.IP access and Campus Card.
The aim of the programme is to support the professorships and chairs in concluding and intensifying strategic partnerships with international universities. These international collaborations are fundamental to the establishment of joint degrees, binational doctoral procedures and ensuring a smooth student exchange.
The continuous expansion of internationalization in teaching is a central component of the target agreements of the Bavarian universities.
If you are already working on a new international cooperation or would like to expand an existing partnership, the Visitin Programme PLUS offers you the opportunity to invite a guest from the partner university in order to promote cooperation through personal contact and also to offer colleagues in the faculty the opportunity to find points of contact with their professorship.
Any university lecturer from the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies at the University of Passau is eligible to submit proposals. A plausible presentation of the strategic cooperation project is a prerequisite for approval.
During the stay, there will be a lecture and/or a round of talks with the faculty in which the guest presents the sending university as well as the cooperation opportunities and, together with the inviting professor, the planned collaborations.
The minimum duration of the stay is ten consecutive calendar days, which should offer the opportunity to hold personal discussions and establish contacts.
The application and contract processing is handled by the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies. The Dean's Office requests that the application be submitted on time and in duplicate.
You can find a summary of all the general conditions and application modalities in the programme guidelines here.
If you are not sure whether the programme is suitable for you or if you have any questions about the application process, please contact the Coordinator for International Affairs, Maria Fuchs.
